Sheriff Sadie Darnell was elected Sheriff of Alachua County in November 2006; re-elected again in 2008 and is currently running for re-election in 2012.

Born: Gainesville, FL, December 23, 1951; member, United Church of Gainesville; retired from the Gainesville Police Department, at the rank of Captain.
